Points Brought Up By Plumbers During 05/26 Meeting (For Office)
Hey guys!
This post is for the office, but the plumbers and techs can see it too.
I think this would be a good thing to post here weekly.
Point 1
Service calls can be traded amongst plumbers that have the required skills for that job.
To reduce time spent on the roads, plumbers may choose to swap jobs as they see fit.
We need to be mindful of this when rearranging the schedule.
Point 2
It’s important to consider that some plumbers may have already acquired supplies for certain jobs the day before that job takes place… So, if we’re moving around the schedule for one reason or another, it might be wise to include them in this conversation.
Point 3
If we ask if the plumbers can do a weird job that we’re unsure of, and one of them says yes…
Put that job on that individual.
Not everyone has already developed or hones the same skills, and they may not be comfortable or competent to complete certain work.
So we should assign this work to the plumbers that we know can do it.
(On that note, I need to get a list of the strange work the plumbers are comfortable with, and put it on their lines so we know)
Point 4
If a customer has a job that no one wants to do, and one plumber reluctantly accepts… If that plumber doesn’t want it to affect his “Next openings”, we should respect that…
E.g. let’s say someone needs a job that know is going to be worth very little money but one plumber says “Ok… fine… I’ll do it.” – he’s doing us and the customer a solid. But if we take away an opening from him, that will have an impact on his sales for the day. So if he asks to have 5 jobs + this little job, respecting that is the right thing to do.
Okay. I think that’s it!
And, plumbers…
I’m going to try and remember to do this regularly. If you think of stuff we can improve in the office, let me know. If we can implement it, we will.
Cheers!
